Rachael Davis-Stollar
Profile
Rachael is an experienced and articulate professional skills trainer, mentor, and coach. She practised in the city as a finance solicitor, specialising in restructuring and insolvency, before taking up an in-house commercial role with a listed company. This combination of private and in-house practice afforded her a dual perspective (both as instructed and instructing solicitor) on the relevance and importance of commercial awareness to the development and success of today’s lawyers and law firms.
Whilst a lawyer in private practice, Rachael delivered technical and skills training to clients, lawyers, trainees, and executive support teams, and was significantly involved in both business development and knowledge management for the practice. Given her experience working in and with law firms, she has a particular interest in lawyer commerciality and the alignment of legal advisory services with clients’ needs and objectives.
Rachael has been appointed a visiting lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire Business School in their Strategic Management Group and is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Authority. She leads on the annual SELF programme on management and leadership and is an industry expert speaker on the Graduate MBA programme. Outside of work, she is trustee and Chair of Fundraising for a national charity for children and adults with learning disability or autism and sits on the board of trustees of her local theatre.
